good gun and its cheap!!! September 1, 2010 Jason this is an awesome gun for 30bucks and it has yet to fail on me. Used it to spray paint my car and used the larger diameter nozzle for adding sound proofing on my other car. Worked reliably and it looks good parts are of high quality. Only problem is i was trying to remove the inner nut on the inside and the instructions told me to go clockwise to remove did that and it striped the nut and the socket that was included in the kit. I really dont need to remove that nut anyways but it would make cleaning it a lot better.
Pros
high quality
cheap
works great with a 3hp compressor
looks awesome compared with the guns at home depot
Cons
doesnt include the proper fittings which i had to go and buy at home depot ex female connectors and quick release connectors cost about 6bucks at home depot
doesnt include oil and water filter which home depot didnt have but it still worked great without it
inner nut is kinda striped and also socket got stripped
require at least a 2hp compressor
Great gun for the money! August 30, 2010 Rodney Dimick (San Antonio, TX) I bought this HVLP gun to shoot oil based primer, base, and top coat on a metal tandem axle trailer with a 5hp Craftsman compressor to supply the air.
Metal Primer (Sherman Williams) was too thick to shoot without thinning - even with the larger nozzle and needle. Used a roller to apply the first coat of primer and then sprayed the second (with a lot of thinning). I had some old rusty angle iron and tried to shoot RustOleum rusty primer and that shot really well without thinning.
Base coat was shot with the smaller (1.4) needle/nozzle and RustOleum Aluminum paint. This provided a very even and uniform coat without thinner or reducer.
Top coat used the smaller needle & nozzle and again provided an exceptionally smooth top coat.
Bottom line, follow the sprayer adjustment instructions and fine tune the setting as you refill the cup - had to increase the regulator from 45 to 50 and increase the paint volume by the fourth cup. Clean the gun as soon as you finish using it with thinner in the cup...
The Craftsman compressor was forced to run continuously with the HVLP gun - but worked fine. A high pressure gun would have forced rental of a high CFM compressor.
As a backup, Harbor Freight has the same gun with one nozzle/needle and no regulator for $9.99.
Great Gun March 19, 2010 D. G. Acosta (Morgan City, LA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I use it for automotive finishes. Considering what I paid for it, this gun works extremely well. Took a while to learn the correct settings, since I'd never used an HVLP gun before, but I'd say it works at least as well as a another gun I have, which sells for many times more. I'm also amazed by how little overspray this gun makes. You really can't go wrong with this one.

This gun is very good and shoots perfect. Good for anyone that wants to paint their own car.
Good tool February 16, 2010 A. Herwitz (Michigan) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I really like this spray gun, I have already used it for both glazes and paint and I love all the little pieces that come with. It adjusts easily and well, and you can even lower the pressure enough to spray glazes on slightly wobbly pieces.
