Product Description JVCC CFL-5CA Copper Foil Tape is a 1 oz. rolled copper foil which provides excellent solderability and conformity. Used for RFI/EMI (electromagnetic interference/radio-frequency interference) shielding applications in the electrical/electronics industry (used to shield integrated circuit chips, cables and motors). CFL-5CA is coated with an acrylic adhesive which is uniformly dispersed with conductive spheres to provide a very low rate of electrical resistance through the tape (0.003 Ohms/square inch). Its conductive adhesive is ideal for printed circuit board modification, security-alarm circuit repairs, and prototype wiring-board layout and design. Also for cable wrapping to provide EMI/RFI shielding, seaming of EMI/RFI shielded rooms for electrical continuity, static charge draining and for surface contact to non-solderable materials (e.g. aluminum or plastics). Its aggressive acrylic adhesive system creates a superior bond. Annealed and non-tarnishing, bright copper color. Flammability: File #130121, UL 510, Section 4. Can also be used for decorative arts & crafts projects. NOTES: Sizes shipped will typically be the tape industry standard metric-cut sizes, i.e. 24mm for each 1 inch of nominal tape width ordered (rolls are approximately 5% narrower than the nominal size). This product's actual size is 6.3mm wide. This tape is typically cut to width from log rolls so most sizes ship on a plain white core.

| Customer Reviews: Fixed bad contact June 25, 2010 E. Porter (New York) I bought this to repair the electrical contacts on my GPS. The bottom of my GPS has little gold contacts that mate with a cradle. The cradle pins though have started to wear out the contacts on the GPS. I cut tiny little pieces of the foil and stuck them to the contacts. The GPS now connects more reliably to the cradle. Of four pieces I cut and placed, one has pulled off. Not bad considering that I have taken the gps on and off many times. It would be great if the glue was a little stronger, but then again the pieces I'm placing are tiny.
Works Well August 22, 2009 Christopher Lumsargis I purchased this tape as an alternative to soldering together solar cells without tabs. I used it both as tabbing wire by cutting the tape into 1/32" strips and as the current bus connecting strings of cells together. The tape is particularly strong, even at 1/32nd inches and conducts well. Resistance is nominal. I just put my first panel in the sun and I get full voltage. Thus far the adhesion is withstanding the heat from direct sunlight well. It also plays well with other non-adhesive metallic tapes. I was running out of this tape, so the connected it with aluminum tape. Again, it conducts well with less practically no resistance when stringing together aluminum tape with this tape. Although I have some reservations regarding longevity of the adhesive, the technical specs look adequate for long-term use. Overall, I would recommend this product for those looking at stringing together solar cells who do not want to solder.
It's copper, it's tape, and it works. May 12, 2009 The Overbobb 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well what can I say, it's copper tape. One side has excellent adhesion properties... And, on the other side copper... Great for arts and crafts, electronics, and hobbies. excellent for repairing broken traces on circuit boards.
I was sceptical about the 'conductive adhesive', but... February 10, 2008 W. Klaila (Minneapolis, MN) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My project used 1" x 40" strips of conductive, carbon-impregnated, vinyl material for pressure sensors. I found the resistance of these strips to be inconsistent. Also, the resistance was much higher than I needed.
I ordered this tape with the hope that I could stick it on top of the strips and solve both my problems. I decided to try it because the tape claimed to have a conductive adhesive. I hoped that by simply taping the top side of a conductive vinyl strip, the copper would reduce the strips overall resistance and, hopefully, make the resistance consistent across the 100 strips used in my project. It would only work if the adhesive was conductive. It was! And it was very easy to apply.
